I recently tested the Comfrt Airplane Mode hoodie and sweatpants on a 5-hour flight. You know the ones, I’m sure you’ve seen them because they went viral on both Instagram and TikTok. The’re comfy (ha ha) and the pocket design is amazing, but the bulk goes against your traveller instinct of packing light. So is worth it? Here are my honest Comfrt reviews of the hoodie and sweatpants.

My honest Comfrt reviews
There’s nothing worse than being cold on the plane! Well, maybe losing your passport. And the Comfrt Airplane Mode hoodie solves both of those problems. It’s alllll over TravelTok and features several passport-sized zip pockets and a built-in sleep mask. I tried it out, and here’s the tl;dr:
- Good for travellers who fly to one destination and return, go to cold countries, or want to be warm and cozy around the house/accommodation. (It isn’t just for the plane, afterall.)
- Not great for travellers who plan multi-stop trips that involve a lot of packing and unpacking. If you’re backpacking through hot countries and will only use the sweater for flights, it’s prob not worth it. If you’re doing a road trip when you land and can toss the hoodie in the back of the rental, no problemo.
What size Comfrt hoodie should I get?
Omg I’m so happy you asked. I ordered a medium for both the hoodie and the track pants and had unexpected results. The medium hoodie was massive on me — sleeves too long, bunching up around my waist and hips. The medium sweatpants? They fit perfectly. This was an unfamiliar experience, since I’m bottom-heavy and it’s usually the pants that run small, not the top.
So make sure you size down on the hoodie, but you can go true to your size on the pants. Other reviewers on Comfrt’s own site and Trustpilot say the same thing.

Colours and prints
Another thing I love is that there’s lots of colours and prints — and who doesn’t love a bold set? I got the Silver Birch print hoodie and plain black track pants.
Sizing, while a bit inconsistent, is gender-neutral so you can even match with your partner! (Chesney said no.) And I’m sorry, but the fact that you can get a matching hoodie for your pet is TOO cute.
Which Comfrt hoodie has the built-in sleep mask?
If you’ve seen this feature mentioned and are searching for which Comfrt hoodie has the built-in sleep mask, you can go with any of the options in the Airplane Mode line.
All of them have a built-in eye mask, which is sooo nice for flights. Off the plane, though, I’ll note it kind of affects the shape of the hood in a way that made me feel a little bit like Alien.
Felt cute, might hunt some astronauts later idk.
Is Comfrt legit?
Yes, in my experience, Comfrt is legit. I got the items I paid for, they’re well-made, and they deliver on their promise of being comfy for the plane, the airport lounge, and around the house.
That said, based on others’ experiences and Comfrt reviews shared online, figuring out how to return a Comfrt hoodie might be harder than you expect. Some people in Trustpilot’s 1-star reviews and on Reddit and YouTube have shared bad or sketchy experiences when trying to make a return.
Some were only offered store credit instead of a refund and others had to pay for return shipping themselves. One person had a whole situation with a lost package that turned into months of emails over a replacement. So the process is far from perfect.
I think the takeaway is that you’ll be just fine if you get the right size on the first try. If you need to send something back, umm… don’t get your hopes up.
I never had to test the return process myself. But for what it’s worth, my order shipped to my parents’ house with no issues. Comfrt is legit in that it definitely exists and the clothings looks just like the website pictures promise. The Airplane Mode line’s design with so many pockets gives you tons of space and makes it easier to keep your stuff protected as you move through the airport.

Other Comfrt reviews
The brand has a 4.5 out of 5 on Trustpilot with 11,500+ Comfrt reviews.
Most people comment on the same selling features I liked: the softness, comfort, and the plethora of pockets. However, a recurring theme even in the positive reviews is people saying it runs large, which is also what I found. Be sure to get a full size down!
My own shipping experience was uneventful. No delays, no issues getting the order to me, but I also wasn’t in a hurry. Based on all these other Comfrt reviews, it still comes out with a solid rating.
The Comfrt Airplane Mode travel hack
Ok so while I’ve docked it marks for its bulkiness, the Airplane Mode hoodies and sweatpants can actually be a bit of a carry-on baggage hack, too.
There are pockets built into the sleeves and pant legs. Several of them are zippered “secret” pockets designed for hidden yet easy access to your passport, boarding pass, phone, credit cards, or headphones. And so if your carry-on is creeping over the standard 7 kg limit, you can stash some small but heavy-ish items in the pockets to pass a gate check.
It’s a trick a lot of people use with stuffable neck pillows, but Comfrt has essentially built it into a cozy track suit. Things like external battery packs, ebook readers, charging bricks, and even a reasonably small toiletries bag could fit. Just try to be sly about it rather than showing up like Joey on Friends.

My Comfrt review summary
So are Comfrt hoodies worth it? The hoodie and sweatpants are ooooh so warm and cozy, which is great while you’re wearing them. But the bulkiness is a real consideration if you’re a frequent traveller with precious suitcase space. On a single direct flight where you land and stay in one place, that’s all good. Maybe if you have a regular route between two homes in different cities or something.
But on a trip with multiple stops, it takes up a disproportionate amount of space in a carry-on or even your checked luggage. Most Comfrt reviews don’t mention that for some reason.
I wore mine through the airport and on the plane leaving Toronto and it was rad. But then I left it with my cousin in Vancouver rather than bringing it with me to Asia because I couldn’t imagine trying to fit it in my bag or wearing it in 25+ degree weather. If you’re flying to Iceland and renting a car for a road trip, it would also be totally fine and actually useful on the day-to-day.
The next time I go for the long haul from Toronto to Auckland via Vancouver? 100% will be wearing my set.
