FAROE ISLANDS

When to travel to the Faroe Islands

The best time to visit really depends on your vibe.

Summer (June to August) gives you long days, decent weather, and a good shot at spotting puffins. But it’s also when things are busiest and priciest.

Spring and autumn are quieter, a little moodier (in the best way). The weather is never predictable in the Faroe Islands, but even less-so during these shoulder seasons. So layer up!

Winter? It’s wild, stormy, and dark. However, it’s also the time for dramatic views and no crowds. Not that the Faroe Islands are ever crowded.

Rent a car to get around

Renting a car is the only real way to make the most of your trip and move between the islands.

Get an eSIM for the Faroe Islands

Some eSIM companies don’t operate in the Faroe Islands yet. And you can’t assume an eSIM for Denmark will work all the way over in the middle of the Atlantic. Saily is a low-cost option that’s available here so you can stay connected.
