Get an eSIM for Thailand

eSIMs have completely changed the way I travel, and make everything so much easier! Get one before you arrive in Thailand so you can switch it on and get internet access.

I use Holafly’s monthly subscription for unlimited data and global eSIM access. More budget friendly options include Saily and Jetpac, while Roamless gives you the ability to make calls (even to landlines).

I’ve done a deep dive into several eSIM options for comparison.

Book your accom in advance

Gone are the days of needing to walk from hostel to hostel with your life on your back. You can find tons of great budget hostels, mid-range hotels, cozy guest houses, bougie villas, and more styles of accommodation online in advance.

Here are some great places to stay in Thailand.

DO NOT ride elephants in Thailand

I’m kinda surprised people still need to hear this, but it’s wildly unethical and the elephants are treated horribly. Go to a sanctuary to see them. But if part of the experience involves sitting on one (chair or not), it’s not a true sanctuary. Same with if their legs are chained or they’re being poked with a metal stick.

Do not pet tigers and other big cats in cages. The only reason these activities continue on is that we as tourists continue to pay for them. Be a responsible traveller and remember that if you love elephants, the best thing you can do for them is give them space.
